Default Is there a minimum age to require a passport

I am in the process of doing an I-129F for a fiancée visa for my fiancée and
her 2 children, from Brazil.

Her son is 2 years old in December, and her daughter is 4 and 1/2 now.

She is in the process of getting birth certificates, translations and
passports now.

Does she need to get passports for the children, as well as herself?

Does she need to get passport photos of the children, as well as herself to
send along with the I-129F and the G-325a Bio?

Any help is greatly appreciated,

tom

As far as the passports go, I'm not sure but I do think the kids will need passports, even if they are very young.

I knew someone (a USC) who was living in Brazil when his daughter was born, and his family came to the States for a visit when she was only 3 weeks old. They had to get her a US passport. For this reason I'm thinking your fiancee's kids will need passports as well.

As for the photos for the I-129F, you'll definitely need one of your fiancee; not sure about the kids.

Daughter got hers at 5 months. The rules are changing about traveling into the US with just a birth certificate. But they would need them if they are thinking about them immigrating.

Don't forget the notaraized permission letter from the other parent about traveling to the US. They don't usually ask but you never know. Canada always asks.

No, you do not need them. The children will become part of the petition at the US Consulate stage.

Hi:

The children will need passports only if they intend to come with her with K-2 visas. Same with the pictures. But that is later in the process.

On the I-129f, NOTHING is needed in regards to the children other then identifying them on the I-129f. Please note that the G-325a doesn't even ask about the children.
