I am surprised to see Ingo's reply to my question here since I thought
any reply will also be emailed to me automatically. And just now I
realized I have been asking many questions through out the years for
myself and my friends and got a lot of comfort and helpful information
during the green card process from the friendly people here.
Now long time after getting the green card, I also realized I never
get to say "Thank you" to the wonderful group of people here. So here
is it, thank you Ingo, Sylvia, Jonathan, Ned, and all the good people
out there helping others in their difficult times. I really
appreciated your kind help and I am sure there are many many others
thinking the same way.

This is a setting on each person's newsreader. Technologically, usenet and
email are completely separate.

Some people configure their newsreader to also email, but I don't for a
number of reasons. First, most people use fake email addresses to protect
themselves from spam. Second, while some people welcome such emails,
others find it intrusive.

Hope this is not a goodbye to the newsgroup from you. The first-hand
experience of people who have gone through the pain is very useful to others
who are going thru it currently. You now need to stick around and use your
experience to answer the questions others have.
