Tax transcripts question for AOS interview
So I spent last year as a contractor - all of my taxes were paid on time, and I requested my tax transcript for the AOS interview. I received it, however it shows that no payment has been made. This makes sense, because on the cover letter it says ‘the transcript, however, does not contain changes made to the return, by either you or us, after you filed the return’ - this makes sense as I filed in January, and didn’t send off the check until probably late March.
The question I have is, do I need to take something to the AOS interview to show I actually paid the taxes I owed? I could take a print out of the cashed check from my bank statement or something?

It would help but the main thing is that you filed your taxes. As a private contractor you file your quarter payments, a receipt of the last payment is sufficient.
Did you file joint? or individual?

The problem is I didn’t make estimated payments last year. Because I only started working in September, I wasn’t a tax resident for the full year so wasn’t required to make estimated payments.

Re: Tax transcripts question for AOS interview
Currently on hold to the IRS about seeing if they can send me out some kind of receipt.
It’s not the end of the world either way, worst case scenario the IO doesn’t accept my I-864 as sufficient evidence and we have to use my father in laws as a backup.
My main concern was that they would query why it says I have made no payments, but upon some research it appears as if it’s not an issue as they’re not looking for that. Will bring the print off of the cashed check from my bank statement anyways however.

Thought mentioned somewhere that you recently made a quarterly payment. If so, didn't you get an online receipt? As you said, it is neither here nor there for you as your fil will then be your joint sponsor.

Yeah I did, but that was for the 2018 tax year - I’m talking about the 2017 tax year where I made no estimated payments. But as you said, non issue
