Successful AOS Interview in Harlingen, Texas
Arrived at 11:45 am, guard took our interview letter and we sat down.
At exactly 12:45 pm, we were ushered into a female INS employee's office and
sworn in with our right hands raised.
She asked for Esther's passport, EAD, and advanced parole documents.
She asked where we were living and when we got married.
She took my financial responsibility form and my 3 years of taxes.
She then stamped Esther's passport, kept her EAD and advanced parole
document and said, "Congratulations! Your green card will arrive within 2
months. See you in 2 years!"
That was it! Fifteen minutes and it was over!

Congratulations!!
You have been a very thorough and concerned petitioner, and asked lots of good
questions. I'm really glad you kept the group informed along the way, and I wish
you the best in the future.
Keep in touch.

Re: Successful AOS Interview in Harlingen, Texas
Hi,
Congratulations on a successful AOS interview!
Does anyone know if the Harlingen, TX INS office is processing AOS
based on a K-1 faster than AOS based on an I-130? I entered the US on
the VWP on April 18, 2001 but then we decided to get married on May
25, 2001. We filed my AOS on July 17, 2001 and I was fingerprinted on
August 1 this year. Having waited so long for my AOS interview so far
I'm kinda wanting to wait until after our two year anniversary to cut
out the conditional status but unless there's a different time line
between K-1 based AOS and I-130 based AOS I wonder why the large time
line discrepancy!
Congrats again!
