Didnt get a chance to go yesterday, but Im free today. The office closes at 4pm, so I am going to try going in around 3pm and see if I have better luck. My two rejections were in the morning, so maybe the change in tactics will get me in

You could try a white lie? Say you called the national USCIS number, and they said to go down to your local office and you would be seen on the day.

I personally would not do this. When dealing with USCIS or its affiliates, the best policy is not to lie or bend the truth at all. Who knows how it might backfire?

It's known that many ASCs take walk-ins, but it's up to the individual ASC, they create their own policy. So if his local ASC does not take walk-ins, he will just have to go on his appointment day.

Its the Dallas ASC, and the lady who is always there told me they do not accept walk-ins, even when its quiet. However I know many expats down here who have managed it at the same ASC, so Im going to keep trying

Do a stakeout. When someone replaces the lady while she goes to the restroom, make your move!

I think thats the only move I have left! I tried again this afternoon around an hour before the office closes, there was not a single person waiting for their biometrics appt.... and they still said no, I would need to wait for my appt!

And yup..... it was the same woman again!

I guess Dallas really does not take walk-ins any more, I will need to wait until my appt on the 23rd.

Well after all my failed walk-in attempts, my biometrics appt was in Friday. I was in and out in less than 15minutes, staff seemed very efficient!

Filed - 8/8/11
Receipts received in mail - 9/1/11
Biometrics notice received - 9/2/11
Biometrics - 9/23/11

Hi DeftoneUK,

I was just wondering if you know what stage your application is at now? For example: are you following your case status on the USCIS website and is it at the decision stage yet? Or, have you received any further letters from them?

I just thought i would ask, as i filed my Adjustment Packet on the 9/2/11 and got my reciepts back on 9/8/11, and have my Biometrics on 9/29/11 - we are about a week apart.

Plus I'm also a Deftones fan from the UK

regards,

I wouldn't put much stock in what the USCIS website shows. My EAD is showing at initial review at the moment, but I have had the card in my wallet for a couple of weeks.

Agreed. The USCIS web site still shows that my petition for my wife is in initial review, and she became a US citizen a few years ago.

Hope it goes well. My wife and I did our interview in Pittsburgh, PA a couple of weeks ago. I had overstayed three years on the VW program. I was completely bricking it until I saw my lawyer again a month or so before the interview. She walked my wife and I through the process and said I had nothing whatsoever to worry about.

The interview comes and we were in there for around 10/15 minutes tops. The only bit of evidence the guy looked at was at some photos and that's it. He said congratulations and i'd get the card in around two weeks.

I got my EAD card in production notice yesterday, wonder if I will have it before my GC interview?

Its irrelevant in my case anyway as I do not intend to apply for any jobs here in the near future
