Default Spouse Tourist Visa?

Do spouses of US Citizens, whether or not they have applied for the K-3 be
granted tourist visas? My fiance's tourist visa expires in less than 2 years
and we plan on marrying this summer and start the K-3 process. Will he be
granted another tourist visa to come here to visit, or will we have to visit
elsewhere?

A 2 yr tourist visa? What country is he from? Once your fiance is your spouse than as a K3 applicant then he is no longer a "tourist" but someone who is waiting for permission to come to the US while his 130 is awaiting approval. The K3 is good for 2 years and can be renewed (sometimes has to be depending on the service center you are going thru). You can visit wherever you want as long as either one of your visits falls within a visitor's visa and sufficient proof is forthcoming to show that whoever will return to where they came from. Be mindful of the fact that if he comes to the US to visit you as an intending K3er BEFORE the K3 is issued it will be so noted in the computer at the POE and he may or may not face further questioning, so be prepared.....

She said the current one expires in (less than) two years, not that it was
originally valid for two years.

Once he has a K-3 visa he doesn't need (and wouldn't get) the tourist visa.
He'll use the K-3 - presumably to come and live.

Annie>>> He has a 5 year tourist visa now and it expires in August 2005. We
plan on marrying on his next visit and start the K-3 process. The K-1 was
denied because I do not have a job, though technically I do have enough income
(non taxable).
Once we start the K-3 and his current tourist visa expires, can he apply for
another tourist visa to come here? Or will it be a waste of time and money?
I hope to start working within the month after my recovery from surgery.
Ever hopeful for him to be allowed to come home, though this separation is
starting to wear our relationship very thin.

Annie>>> Right, he has less than 2 years left on his 5 year tourist visa.

Annie>>> That is our goal, to get the K-3 and start our life together. The K-3
could take longer than he has time left on the tourist visa, and no guarantees
if he will even get the K-3 if they decide that my income (once I get the job,
hopefully next month) is still not sufficient.
