I'm just over 4 months out from expiry on mine so i'm getting my renewal sent in next month for this also.

I'd read that it has to be within 120 days before expiry. Can't remember where though

However, after searching after your reply i see USCIS mention not to do so within 180 days - i think i'll get this sent in this week.
