Question Questions on I-130 process

Hi guys I just wanted to know what the process was once the I-130 petition has been approved. My petition for I-130 was approved in California and I just wanted to know what the next step is and if I am living in Texas which service center does my application go to or does that matter at this point. I have already got my fee bill and sent in the money order and now apparently I am supposed to get a package from the state department in which I have to send my affidavit of support but I am still not clear on details of this process. Do I need to file an I-824? Will I be able to monitor processing dates like I can with the K3 application which is actually still pending? Any help will be greatly appreciated; you guys have been very helpful so far thanks for everything.

Thanks

You are talking about two separate processes: adjustment of status (file
with Service Center) or consular processing (involves the State
Department and an eventual filing and interview with a post abroad).
You cannot use both processes; you must elect.

Depending on your situation, one process or the other may be more
advantageous.
