In applying for a fiancee visa, has anyone here applied for a police certificate from
the RCMP in Ottawa, Ontario? If so, did you have to wait for the letter from the
Consulate before applying for the police certificate? Could you please describe the
steps you took to obtain the police certificate and the time line? Thanks.

You don't need to wait - just tell them it's for a fiance visa. If you have any kind of a criminal record they will need figerprints that will have to be sent to Ottawa for processing. The wait is about 5-10 weeks. If you have no record, they should print it out on a walk in basis. Hope this helps.
