pamela's name change

how can we go about changing her name on her passport once she is in the United
states, or does it really matter? we are doing a DCF in south africa.

She takes or sends it to the ZA consulate with proof of marriage and maybe an
apostile. You could call them and ask if they need the apostille.

It shouldn't matter. There is no law in the US saying she has to change her name.

Is this a serious question? I have two answers.

1. You take a large Red Felt Tipped pen and change the name

2. You apply to the consulate of the country to which the passport belongs.

Hey, you do need to take care of that because when she travels her name on the
tickets and passport as well as other ID need to match! Esp. nowadays.

You can contact the Consulate of So Africa here in the US. You will probably have to
take or mail the passport and certified marriage certificate and they will change it.
(They will then give them or mail them back.)

We did this with my wife's Passport without problem.
