I originally emailed that couple and can tell you that the issue is health-related, not financial as that is irrelevant as far as the INS is concerned, and they are not yet approved.

Cdcib,
Don't worry at all!!! You have nothing to stress over, you will probably be approved within the next week or two! It is perfectly normal for a Service Center to say they are working on petitions until 10/31/02 and yet not approve a petition dated 10/25/02 until another 2 weeks after their annoncement. I know it is hard, but try to relax and dont worry. You'll see what I mean.

oh well
disappointed here on Valentine's day (day 120) only to be told that our application went "on an officer's desk" only three days ago and will now take apparently another 30-60 days. Though, from the previous 30-90 days, then 60-90 days, then 60-120 days and now a further 30-60 days I doubt very much that this is to be believed. So it looks as if it will be up to 6 months from first NOA before even getting the paperwork sent to my local consulate and apparently it takes about 6 weeks here to get an interview.

Nope. We were married in Phoenix, marriage cert. from Phoenix, and my wife
is from Peru (don't know if that has anything to do with it - ??). We're
currently on day 102 for the K3 (NOA: 11/5).
I even put color-coded tabs on the documents and put a cover letter
explaining the packet and what the color legend was, and then I punched
holes in it. It was worth a try, right? Hasn't helped any. *sigh*

entire Life Act thing confuses me.... I have received my first NOA with a
recipt date of 12-17-03 and I am still waiting for the second NOA to have
my wife proceed with the k-3 process
My petition was filed in Chicago and I have no idea on how to check on
processing times. I am guessing If my wife and I didnt marry I could have
gone through VSC seeing I fall under there jurisdiction. I can find current
processing times for VSC which have consitantly run about a month for the
past few months.
Do the processing times for Chicago fall under MSC ??? and If so, how come
the current dates for MSC havent been posted ?? I cant find anything
current like the other services centers. Dec 15th is the latest, with the
petitons dated 9-30 hitting the desk. I would just like to be able to keep
an estimation of time I have to wait before recieving the 2nd NOA.
This gets frustrating at time because I was expecting my family home with
me this past september... I have learned alot about immigration laws since
than. I never LOVE had such a high price tag upon it. It took me awhile to
get the ball rolling... getting all of the nessary paperwork in order for
my lawyer and filing the 130 November and getting the 1st NOA for that like
a week later... than filed the I-129-F immediatly after that and recieved
the 1st NOA yet another week later... I was thinking things were moving
along pretty quickly after the ball got started but know the more I look
into things the more I feel there might be a sudden slow down for I have no
clue how to check except for the 60-90 day time frame I was given on the
NOA
Thanx for taking the time if you got this far =)

Hi everyone. I got good news and bad news. First I know that MSC is
looking at our case with a 1st NOA dated 11-1-2002 (paper notice is
10-31-2002) The bad news is today they issued a letter requesting
further evidence.
Hi Victor,
It's great to know that MSC is working on October and November. Just one question though. What kind of evidence were they asking for? Good luck. Thank's for keeping us posted.

I think I should point something out... everyone keeps referring to the I-129F approval as K-3 approval... that is not true.
Just because you get the letter saying your I-129 was approved does not mean that your visa was approved... it only means that now you are on to the next step which is sending all your papers to the consulate to see if they will give you a visa. So K-3 approval is when you have the sticker in your passport NOT the letter saying you've been approved.
Just thought I'd clear that up in case others were confused!

Good Luck to all those waiting

Celine...
You are doing a great job in keeping everyone updated!! Thank you.
Also, YOU are almost there!!! MSC is already working on 11/01/02!
For those waiting from October (Nat and Cdcib), please don't worry. I am sure your approvals are on the way!! Hopefully next week will bring in some good news. Remember the adjudicators will be in good moods because of their long weekend. =-)
Good luck to all,
~Claudia

Hi CD
We tried to find out more info through our senator and because it was over 120 days since our first NOA he looked into our case specifically and this is what he was told - ie, that it would take another 30-60 days. Who knows, we may get it next week, we may get it in six months, as the time frames provided don't seem to be reliable.
