Thanks for all of your help with my other questions.
Does anyone know of a hotel/motel nearby both the Montreal consulate and the
train station?
My fiancee just got his appointment notice this week, and the appointment is next
week. (We're not complaining.)
Thanks for your help.

hi there,
there are several nearby hotels in that area. check rene leveque and sherbrooke st.
locations for holiday inns, marriotts, best westerns, etc. they are not typically
that cheap (around $70-100/night), but t hey are downtown.
anyway, can i ask you....how long did it take you to receive your appointment letter
from when you sent the checklist off? i am in monteal, too.
thanks!

Sarah, We sent in the checklist on April 16, 2001 and received the letter on May 8,
2001. They didn't give us much warning, the appointment was sheduled for the next
week. Hope this helps.

Actually you don't need warning. By sending back the checklist you are telling them
you are prepared to come in at that very moment for an interview. I know, I know, you
and many others have to get plane tickets, etc. Most likely they had a freed up spot
on the calendar and you were the lucky one to fill it.
As for the room, Perdue stayed at an inexpensive B&B near the Consulate. Check out
the I-130 experiences on the site below for more info.

actually, Rete I wasn't complaining I even mentioned that on my original post. Every
time I post on here to ask for help, you seem to take personal offense to everything
I say. Isn't there a saying, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say
anything at all. Thank you to everyone else for their nonjudgmental advice.
