Medical Result for K1 Visa
Hi, I am now waiting for an interview and we are on the last stage of
the whole process I hope. However, I have a concern about the medical
Checkup I did for the visa. According to what the U.S. Consulate says,
the visa will be issue after the day of interview. Will they reject me
if the xray I did has discovered I have some kind of medical condition,
for example, cancer? I haven't been very depressed lately and I
worried a lot, but this is really what my concern right now.
Please help.

I believe the only problem would be if they discover you have either AIDS or TB, or some other dangerous communicable disease. Not cancer.

Cancer, I doubt if any of the checks I had would have shown that, but then I think the Cancer would be my main concern. The earlier discovered the better the prognosis.

Thanks for your reply. However, I would like to know when they will
view my health report? Will it be on the day of the interview? And
when will the visa be issue normally? According to my knowledge, I will
only bring the health report to them on the day of my interview. So I
would guess they will read the health report on thre same day, since
the U.S. Consulate told me the visa will be issued the next day of the
intervview.
Thanks

Re: Medical Result for K1 Visa
Hi Irene,
I'm not sure which country you are in but from my experiences at the
Embassy in Russia, they will review your medical files on the day of
your interview. If there is a problem preventing you from obtaining a
Visa, such as TB or HIV, then they would tell you at that time why it
is being denied.
I have never heard of someone being denied for other conditions, as not
everyone is in perfect health. You will know you were approved before
leaving the consulate or Embassy. However; they usually issue the visa
by courier and it arrives at your home address within 7-10 days after
the interview. You will recieve your passport, containing the visa, and
a sealed packet to present at the border when you enter the United
States. Please keep us posted on how things go, I study immigration
cases and would be interested to know more about your experiences, and
situation.

Jef

Re: Medical Result for K1 Visa
THanks Jef, you guys are great. It helps a lot!!!!
Now I have another question, what is that sealed packet for?? I am
gonna hire a moving company to make the move, I notice that I have to
show them some kind of document in order to do that. Is the packet the
one I need to show to the moving company?? So basically, I will know
whether my visa will be approved on the day of the interview, is that
correct?
Thanks again.

Be VERY careful with the moving company!! They are well known for being
less than honest.
Our shipment grew by about a third from what we were told there and what
arrived here. They held the shipment for ransom until we paid the extra
cost. I understand that is very common.
