marrying an illegal?
Hi everyone! I have a question that I'm sure has been asked numerous of
times but I still need an answer if there's one. My best friend will be
marrying an illegal immigrant from Ecuador (they have a baby). Will he be
able to put in his immigration papers to become legal? If so, how?

Is your friend a USC?
Are they both in the US?
How did he enter the US - was he inspected?
Has he always been illegal or did he fall out of status?

Re: marrying an illegal?
She is a US citizen. They're both in the US and living together with their
8 month old baby. He entered the US illegally without inspection. They
heard someone if they were to get married and put in his papers that he
would get deported for 10 years as a punishment or something like that. If
this is so, is there any way of getting around it or would it be better if
he didn't attempt to become legal? Thanks

Re: marrying an illegal?
At this point even married to a US citizen he has no option to become legal. Section 245(i) is long expired and hopes of it being resurrected die a little more with each passing day.
He can either go home and hope for the best, meaning denial of a visa and then a waiver of inadmissibility because of his wife and child. But that is not a sure thing either.

They could "get around it" by them both moving back to his county!

When cheese gets it's picture taken, what does it say?
