Can anyone tell me If I'm okay as far as the affidavit of support at the interview
for K-1 is concerned?

I will put following in my I-134

Yearly income from my job: $67,000 (including bonuses and all.) Life insurance
value: $43,000 (this is company sponsored insurance that is equal to my one year
'base salary'.

Nothing else.

I have no dependent. I've been with my company for 16 months, so I'll attach
last year's tax return and W2. Prior to that I was in college, so this is my
first real job.

I will also attach letter of employment from my company's HR department. This letter
will confirm my salary among other things.

Someone said all you really need are the I-134 and the letter of employment. Is
that true?

Anyone who's been through this, please shed some light for me.

Thank you for your help in advance.

Did you read the instructions? It is 125 percent of poverty level. Where do you think
this level is??

It is meaningless. It has no value if it is term insurance. It is the net value of
the asset if you could cash it in.

You need what the consulate asks for. Moscow doesn't even want the I-134, but you
never said where you were headed. Most places generally want proof of 3 years of
income, whether you made any money or not.

Rather guessing, why not tell us where it is she will be coming from.

The I-134 only deals with current income, which must be 125% of poverty for your
family size. Unless you are dealing with one of the "special" consulates, most only
require the employment letter to verify income. And your income is definitely high
enough for two people. Your life insurance has no value unless it is a whole life
policy that you can borrow against - if it is only a term policy payable at your
death, then it is not an asset. Since you have more than enough income it is not
necessary to include any assets anyway. Take Care. Shelley

yes I just went through this, my fiancee had her physical last week, I only make
45,000.00 as a police officer and at the time I filled out the paperwork, I only had
2,000.00 in life insurance and property valued at 200,00.00 an immigration attorney
told me that the income requirements are only 13,000.00 dollars. I sent in a
statement of my income and several check stubs.
