Job ("make money") with a F-1 visa?

Hi,
I'm currently in the US on a F-1 visa and my US girlfriend and myself are planning on
getting married within a year. If I get a part time job and start making some money
will that have any effect on the process of filing papers and all that? Do they look
into that when they process the application?
