we went to the medical at 8am, were out of there by about 10:30am but did not get to the consulate until almost 11:30, because we were running around looking for a barclays bank to pay the visa fee.
we had to wait a little less than an hour for our interview, and they told us another 20 minutes for the visa once approved. however, there were some computer problems (i think) and we were told to come back by 2:30. the interviewing officer met us at the door when we returned, we never even had to go back into the waiting room, he handed us the visa in the hallway.
medical first, then straight on to embassy, at least in london. i've seen other countries here where the medical is done completely separately on a different day than the interview.
but in london, its one right after the other.
helpful hint: pay the visa fee BEFORE the day of the interview! save yourself some legwork AND alot of time!

Got a reply back from London Embassy today and they told me I need to go to the Medical first and then onto the Embassy for my interview

They have scheduled Eric's medical for July 7 and the interview for July 15. I'm glad Eric called the consulate today. Cost him 14,50 euros, but well worth it.

I had the same letter as has been mentioned on this thread, together with instructions for the day. I did notice signs at the Embassy warning people that had their interviews first to go immediately to Dr Phelan's thereafter so as not to delay the medical results.

Ah, so Paris is quite different with the medical and interview process. Whew, glad he called!! Yes, it does seem like it's still out of reach for us too. Still 4 weeks until the interview and my nerves are a wreck some days, hehe. I think we'll both feel like it's the end of the world should something happen and he doesn't get the visa that day
OK, enough of that negativity, lol. Good luck to you and Eric
