Interview date in London at last!
Hi guys
At last the London Embassy emailed me telling me my K1 interview date
is February 24! I am so scared and excited. Will anyone else on the
newsgroup be there that day or the day before?
I have to disclose a careless driving conviction from 14 years ago at
the interview. Does anyone have any experience of what kind of things
they ask about that kind of stuff? That is the one part that is
worrying me somewhat.
Also, has anybody heard from Michelle? I called her number last Sunday
and was told she already left for America! So her interview on Friday
must have gone well. I'm so pleased for her.
Love and best wishes

Congratulations on your interview!
You mention that you need to "disclose a careless driving conviction". If the incident went to court and falls under a "criminal conviction" which is generally drinking driving etc but not speeding then you'll need to obtain the court report.
I just thought you should know.
Cheers

Re: Interview date in London at last!
Congratulations Cait and Simon&Vic (sorry I wasn't sure which of you has the interview!). I just looked at your sig and the dates are pretty much a week behind mine all the way along. I'm confused as to why it takes virtually a month from sending back your forms to the London embassy until you have the interview?
My interview is on the 19th and I think I've got everything I need but just have these last minute nerves that I'm missing something. I'm sure everyone feels the same as me, it's natural as it's so important! I am just in need of a favour to put my mind at ease! Could you let me know what back up you are taking along? I'm taking my passport, birth cert, police certs (UK and Australia), 3 colour photo's, details of my mortgage and equity in my property, 12 months bank statements, status enquiry letter and financial summary from bank, emails, photo's of us in diff locations, some engagement cards, flight stubs and phone bills. I've paid my £65 and filled in my medical form although I have no vaccination records.
Sorry for the long letter but I'd be very grateful if you could let me know how your back up info compares with mine.
Good luck for you interview!
Paul

Re: Interview date in London at last!
Hello Paul!
I can totally understand your last minute nerves. Not sure why it
takes a month to get an interview, but my NOA1 was way back in March so
the waiting period doesn't seem so long after all that.
The certs I am bringing are:
passport
photos
birth cert
daughter's birth cert
marriage cert from my previous marriage
divorce decree
affidavit of support from Sean in America
police cert
court record (I have a driving offence from 14 years ago)
emails
photos of me and Sean, emails between us
flight stubs
vaccination record
medical questionnaire
Feel free to contact me again if there's anything you're not sure
about, and good luck with your interview.
Love

Re: Interview date in London at last!
Hi James
My conviction was not drinking or speeding, just an accident where the
only one hurt was me! Bad luck that it went to court, don't you think?
I have my court record (certificate of conviction)and will be bringing
it with me.
