I-797A and I-94 question
My first 3 years of H1B visa has expired and I've got another 3 years
extension approved. My company has gave me the H1 approval notice
which has the I-797A and I-94 attached. I am wondering should I tear
BOTH forms off and attach them in my passport? Should I keep my
previous I-94 in passport?
Thanks,
Susan

Probably best to do what it says on the notice - staple the
new I-94 to the old one in your passport.

Tear off both portions, and then separate them. take the I-94 and staple
it to the I-94 in your passport (they are considered legally one and the
same and should not get separated). The other torn-off portion is your
copy of the approval notice; you'll only need that when applying for a new
visa and possibly when entering the US. The top portion is the employer's
copy of the approval notice.
Note: many people only tear off the I-94 and use the whole remainder as
your copy of the approval notice. As long as the employer doesn't have a
problem with it, that would be fine, too.
