Default TX AOS... Interview on the Horizon - Questions...

Hi All,

We are now the proud owners of a sheet of paper which states an interview date! Ya Hoo!

Here is the timeline so far for our AOS

Entered US on K1 visa September 2002
Married September 2002
Filed AOS/EAD/AP at the Dallas office on October 31, 2002
INS cashes checks November 11, 2002
Received receipt dated November 11, 2002, postmarked January 9, 2003
Received fingerprint appointment letter postmarked January 10, 2003
Received AOS appointment letter postmarked February 3, 2002
Our appointment is in late March 2003.

Now we have got a couple of questions...

What should the letters from family and friends/neighbors contain... is there a sample letter anywhere on the net? Should these letters be notarized?

We have been told by our mortgage company that to add me (I'm the alien) to the mortgage documents would mean having to refinance the home (which would mean $$$$)... has anyone else come across this and if so is there a way to circumvent it?

Is there an easy (inexpensive) way to have a name added to the deed of the home?

Should the following be enough to prove relationship?

Letter from life insurance company stating wife as prime beneficiary.
Assorted household bills addressed to both husband and wife.
Bank statements addressed to both husband and wife.
Wedding photos
Wedding congratulatory cards from relatives and friends
Medical card listing me as the benefactor of my husbands medical insurance (i.e. we both have the same number with the Medical insurance company).

Does anyone have any other suggestions of things to add to our rapidly growing stack of papers?

We really appreciate all of your help.

Sincerely
Cleo and Dave

Hi Cleo & Dave

Wow that took 5 mths to come through, I don't have enough personal experienceto help you.

I have read the OAS interviews for Texas on http://www.kamya.com/oas/ which has some who used Dallas
might be worth taking a look for your self.
Wishing you all the best kit

Cleo,

Our AOS interview is coming up in Baltimore in two weeks.
We have not merged our finances and don't intend to do so.
We are both over 40 and like to manage our own finances.

We are taking our insurance information (life insurance and
health insurance), I have added my husband as a user to two
of my credit cards - so I'll be making copies of the cards.
I am also getting letters from my friends and my mother who
lives with us. Along with the wedding and xmas pics, it will
have to be enough.

It was too much of a pain to put his name on the utility bills -
they were going to make me open a brand new account.

Your husband would have to refinance his mortgage to get your
name on it. No way around that. Not sure about the deed.

Good Luck on your interview!
Robin
