Hi all,
I finally have an interview date (
) which is June 9th - exciting times!
However, I was wondering would anyone like to share what the accepted dress code is?
I don't want to turn up looking too casual and give a bad impression, similarly I don't want to be the only one that looked like they are there for a job interview![Smile](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Edit: This is at the US Embassy in London.

I had my K1 visa interview there in January and just about everyone was in 'jeans and t-shirt' kind of attire. The person interviewing you can only see you from your shoulders up anyway. Good luck.

Dress sharp!
I guess I am just old-fashioned that way, but I would never go to any kind of interview in jeans and t-shirt. You want to look like an upstanding candidate for US residency? Act like it!

My post-hippie beach bum wore a collared shirt and slacks. I wore a suit skirt and dress blouse (no hose, hey, it was Athens in August).

I'll be wearing clean, smart jeans, black shoes, and a polo shirt.

I like the look of jeans worn with tractor-tread hiking boots. Very macho. ![Wink](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Oops...sorry...went a little OT there. LOL

What's wrong with looking like you are there for a job interview? It strikes me that is a good standard to apply. The scuttlebutt has it that many Consular Officers admit that the ultimate result is often formed by first impressions.

My company recently had a company outing at the local racetrack (Churchill Downs) at one of the glitzy restaurants (called Millionaire's Row when the KY Derby is on). Naturally, jeans were not acceptable, but 'dress' jeans were. For the life of me, I don't know what 'dress' jeans are?!?

I read the title of the thread and I though "Ahhh, us women, always worried about what to wear".. but you appear to be a bloke?

The interview is through a window so they'll only see your upper half..
Good luck btw..
