Default Husband has decided to devorce me

Husband has decided he wants a divorce with only 1 and 1/2 months left
till our second aniversary. We still have had no date for our interview an
now its going to be a wast of time. I have a work visa which is valid till
Mar 2005.

Well not sure what to do. He may get nasty and remove his sponcership as
soon as he files papers which means i will be out of status. I could marry
someone else I fancied frm a far and I know he wants me. What chance like
do you think I willl be ok for a while

I have know the other person for a while now. Still don't know what I have
done wrong to deserve this.

I dont' know this for sure, but I thought once the person signs the sponsorship that they're "stuck" with it. I'm not sure he can get out of the sponsorship that easily. Something about you working for 40 terms or something along those lines? But like I said, I'm not sure about it. You should check out the sponsorship form and see what it says regarding that...

So you're implying you want to marry this guy just so you can stay in the US?

My understanding is that if and when the AOS is approved then he is
"stuck" but before that a case can be made for him not to be "stuck".

Especially when you can show immigration fraud such as this...

When there's a will, I want to be in it.

Cathy sorry to hear your going through this I too am kind of in the same boat as you read posts and you will find out lol. but I to have a chance to marry soemone I have liked from a far also and he has already proposed to me. Thing is how could I even possibly think of marrying another man when it is not for love. After all the crap my hubby has put me through and marrying me to look good in the eyes of his family I still love him ( stupid me ) huh. I couldn't think of being with someone else let aone marrying them.

sorry just my view on it

I don't know for sure but this woman I know was kind of in the same
situation. She was the immigrant and he was the USC. They had been
together for 5 years for married just shy of 2 years. She wanted a divorce
because he was abusive. We called someone I know at an immigration office
and I explained the situation to him. He said as long as she could show
just cause in the divorce, she would be ok. I don't know if that helps but
it's something.
