Hi, I am sure this is already posted somewhere but my abilty to search is obviously not that good What I'm wondering is does anyone have a rough idea of how long once all your paperwork is sent in is it that you hear about your interview date. Everything was done and dusted approx 3 weeks ago and OH has medical set for Oct 5th so just hoping to get an idea of when to expect interview.

Sorry interview for PR visa I am usc and filed for I130 for OH. Both living in Uk at moment.

Wow that seem to show a long time between submitting the final paperwork and interview date coming through. Did not think it took that long.

I'm not sure if he left something out between these two steps:

October 10th 2006 - Mailed DS-230 part 1 form.

March 4th 2007 - Recieved interview date from US Embassy, London, UK.

Does the DS-230 Part 1 get mailed to NVC, or is that what you send to the USA embassy in London? Seems to me he skipped receiving the visa application forms in the UK and sending back the checklist.

This is too confusing. It is impossible to prodict with any accuracy how long these things will take as far as I can tell.
The link from Noorah seems like a real drag for it to progress but then why would someone take 2 weeks to fill in their DS230 Pt 1? Maybe they were on holiday? Also seemed to take weeks rather than days to send back other forms and fees.

It also seems to vary a lot depending on where and when you're filing. And it's never clear (to me at least) from these timelines where they're doing what.

I'm having my medical tomorrow and waiting for my interview date. Hopefully they won't be too long in sending it :-)

Last Wednesday - Everything has been direct with London.

AHHHHHH interview date is now set ! scarry !just decided to phone and ask direct and they tell me interview is set for November 30th. a bit longer than we expected but as we dont plan to go till late feb its not a prob. so from completing checklist to interview date is just short of 3 months

Why? Because you are not suppose to send it back until you HAVE everything in your hands. That does not mean you send it back when the police certificate is still pending or the medical has not been performed.

Yes, people do just that but if the interview is scheduled before you have everything you are SOL.
