As for changing the date, our embassy in Ankara had no problem with me rescheduling, even at the last minute, and they even provided me with a date during the exact week I requested one. Seems to me London would also work with you to postpone his interview date until he gets back. It only postpones it a couple of weeks, that's not too bad, if you don't mind waiting.

From what I can tell, changing the visa interview is not as difficult as changing the AOS interview.

Yes and that previous info I mentioned would apply. Not sure how you bought your ticket-through a travel agent that's their job to take care of you, their client. Ifyou bought it online, well that's another story, no flesh and blood person, so in that case you have to call the airline.

When we applied for an immigrant visa in Russia I never received a packet 3. I phoned the Consulate regarding packet 3 and 4 and was advised to check for my interview date online since sometimes packet 4 NEVER arrives in the mail, although I did receive it after all. I was also told to write down a list of documents needed for the interview and to start working on them as soon as possible and NOT wait for the packets to arrive. The cosulate scheduled my appointment WITHOUT sending me packet 3. I received packet 4 about 2 weeks PRIOR to my interview, I had already had all the stuff ready by then. I never sent any kind of checklist whatsoever. i dowloaded the forms from the internet, got my affidavits, pics, polise certificates, translations, copies etc. without waiting on the packet 4 to arrive. So, there you have it. My interview was in August this year.

Personally, I would reschedule the interview date,then I would have him complete packet three and send it off as soon as possible. They are very good at changing the date for you, I had to do and they were great. I also knew a girl who had to change it several times via email.

Thanks everyone for the replies and advice!!! I have emailed London, but am sure there will be no reply until Monday at the latest. One more question...........is it ok to download the Packet 3 Forms and use them? I on;y ask because we were told NOT to use a downloaded I-864, so I just want to be sure.

You should be able to download and use them, just make sure you download the latest copy of the form, that's probably what there warning against...

We processed our application in Russia. The I-864 was mailed to us by the joint sponsors. It was downloaded. No problem using it because the signatures on it still have to be notarized.

I changed my ticket 3 times, I had bought a BA whatever was the cheapest from US to UK and was slightly optomistic as to when I would get my interview.

They charged me once for changing the date, with BA you have to give them so much notice, a couple of weeks I think, worth checking, a quick call will resolve.

As from what I have read from your messages, you did not do DCF. Someone mentioned earlier that, if you are going the DCF way, the two parties must be living here. You are living in the states. If this is the case, then your husband will only receive PACKET4 from the embassy. Which comprises of Check list, medical questionier and appointment letter and DS-230 part2. NVC sent your husband PACKET3( which has the DS-230 Part1 and the biographic part of the passport).

You may call them and change your husband's date of interview which is possible. make sure you write them as well as speak to someone at the consulate.

No, we did not DCF...........as you said, I am here, he is there. This is exactly everything we HAVE done so far.

Married in Scotland, I came back here, he stayed there. I filed I-130, got notice of reciept, then notice of approval. He recieved DS230....returned that with $335. I then recieved "bill" for I-864, completed and retruned that.The he gets the letter in October, stating file was forwarded to London. After that, nothing until I emailed them on thursday.

He is going to call them on Monday...............see what they say, and we will just most likely reshedule. We keep telling ourselves, we have waiting this long............lol, whats a little bit longer. Financially, its just better for him to reshcedule than to reurn there earlier or change flight altogether.

Well this gets stranger and stranger. I recieved an email from London just now, saying Packet 3 had been recieved and processed. Husband just called them about rescheduling and they said it could ONLY be done in writting. Soooooo, he writting a letter now to get in the post first thing tomorrow. Hope they get it soon, coz he leaves to come here on sunday!!

The consulate in Ankara, Turkey approved our visa interview appointment change via email (I mean I emailed them the request to change, and they wrote back an approval, and a new interview date). Might not be a bad idea for your fiance to email London the exact same letter he's sending by post, and indicate in the email that he's posted this same letter (just in case the post doesn't get there).

Ok, so when does he get packet 4? Before interview, which must be right, becuae you said it contains appointment letter. If his interview date is December 30th, aren't they pushing it a bit???
