MarneeMaybe when USCIS forwards them on to FBI or wherever for checking, they don't keep a copy. And FBI probably doesn't have time to go back in their records and look you up. It probably takes longer to do that, than to just go in for another set of new ones. Also, perhaps your information has changed since then...name, if you got married, or your mailing address...whatever they use to match up your information. Who knows?!
