So… now I’m getting to grips with all of the evidence we will need for our AOS interview on the 17th. My preliminary list is as follows:
Joint checking/savings account statements
Joint mortgage statements
Joint car insurance policy
Joint homeowners insurance policy
Transcripts of joint tax returns
Joint credit card statements
Joint health insurance policy
Wedding/honeymoon photos
Hopefully that is going to be enough, but any other ideas would be welcome. How far back with bank statements etc. do you have to go? I was thinking just to bring the past 2 or 3 months worth.
Cheers

sounds good to me- I've seen a lot of people who have taken bank statements etc from various points in the year, not for every single month. good luck!

Hi
I just had my AOS interview last week (in Newark), and somehow managed to take two copies of almost everything, rather than original and copy. They approved the AOS though, even though the only documents they accepted were a copy of our recently filed taxes and a copy of the deed to the house, so if you own a house, I would recommend putting the deed in. If I were doing it again, though, I would try to remember to take the originals of everything too!
Oh, don't forget the I-693 vaccination supplement too - that was the first thing they wanted. I am assuming you came over on a K1 visa.
Hope that helps
Alistair
Edit: just remembered that they also wanted my wife's employment letter (she's the USC), original and copy. They accepted it even though we only had 2 copies...

Copies of mailings to your home address preferrably to you both or to either or you showing the same address.
Your fingerprint receipt ... we were asked for it by Ms. Marshall
Your advance parole papers ... again they were asked for
Photos: Use holiday and vacation photos as well.

Good luck Peter.
I remember you are also going to the Garden City office for the interview. Keep us posted how it goes. I just got a letter telling me to get a fingerprinted since my first one would be expired in April. As Ndori suggested I think you should request for a new fingerprint.

I might be confused by this, but I just want to make sure.

Yeah you are right my first fingerprint's already expired according to the "15 months rule". What I wantted to say was by the time my interview in April the fingerprint'd be expried already. sorry for the confusion.

BTW, your lists sounds great. I hadn't thought of bankstatements & mail. Will have to remember that.

Thanks for the tip. How do you go about requesting a new fingerprint notice?

We shopped around - some banks would put me on, others wouldn't. Ones that we found that were willing to have a non-resident on the mortgage were
GMAC (who we went with)
Citibank (we have checking accounts there which helped)
Netbank
E-loan
Hope this helps
