Default EAD expiring

Hello all,

My wife's EAD is going to expire this Sat. and her new one is
probably due to arrive in a month or so. One employer that my wife
works for doesn't really keep track on expiring EAD's. Can you tell
me what the consequences might be is she continues to work with an
expired EAD?

If youre going through an immigration situation, i wouldnt do anything that might jeopardise the outcome. Even if you and the employer think its not a big deal, immigration might think otherwise.

I had a similar situation awhile ago. I applied for my third EAD extension,
but it did not arrive in time. My lawyer advised me to stop working. I
arranged unpaid leave of absence with my employer. My EAD arrived a week
after the previous one expired and was backdated to the date of expiration
of the original EAD. Therefore my unpaid leave of absence was unnecessary
