Default EAD e-filing -- recommended or not?

Greetings.

Have any of you e-filed for an EAD using the online Form I-765?

Any experiences specific to NYC?

Is it quicker or more likely to go awry (on the USCIS side)?

Would you recommend this method over mailing the form in?

Thanks.

From recent reports from people who've e-filed the AP, I think it's more likely to go awry. I've not heard of it being faster.

Good luck! Kirsten

Apparently, it's not 100% electronic: you e-file the form, but you still have to mail in photos, etc. It seems there have been some issues with mailed in items not being associated with an e-form, and RFEs being issued.

I posted mine, could not see where the benefit was, just another possible cause of delay, cock-up etc.

But then as most of us will be applying for a temp EAD, the important thing is to get the NoA.

Thumbs down Re: EAD e-filing -- recommended or not?

Hope - this link is actually regards to Peter who queried re filing for ADVANCE PAROLE but in general, I think it still applies.

I wouldn't e file if it were FREE! but that's just my opinion.

Good luck!

My husband e-filed his EAD. We got a NOA in a timely manner, we were able to schedule an appointment for his fingerprints much closer to my home than the District Office is. We went to Birmingham and was in the office less than 20 minutes for the fingerprints. We were also able to do this quickly. We sent our photos and supporting evidence and now we are waiting (but still well within the timeline). But this process has been very smooth for us to this point.
