Just randomly checked the case statuses of our I-485, I-765 and I-131 applications, and was shocked to see this:

"Application Type: I765, APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION

Current Status:

On July 29, 2004, after approving your application, we ordered you a new card. Your card will be mailed to you as soon as it is ready."

Our NOA on our applications was May 10th, significantly later than the February 1st date they claim to be processing.

Just thought I'd give a heads up to anyone else waiting for EAD!

Wow That is great. My NOA is 3 June thru Boston and I am hoping it will be the same for me.

Mine is JANUARY 14th (receipt date December 23rd). And you think you're going bonkers? Gonna have to get a second interim in a couple of days!

I don't have much choice but to try. I'll try to get some "official" information before I take the 2.5 hour drive (if I'm lucky and there's not any traffic). And hopefully I will get some ACCURATE information... Five hours driving, and $10 for parking all for nothing... would anger me quite a little bit! Probably have to wait in line for 2 hours before they'd tell me no way, too!

As for the Interim EAD, I am sorry to tell you this.. but you can't get a second Interim

That's a bizzar rule....why can't you get a second interim?? With the slow processing times, and some people only getting an interim good for only 3 month, it could happen that a person needs 2. Here's one here....Candice! So what's the use of getting an interim, if you think later on you'll have to quit work anyway, if your interim isn't long enough to tide you over till you get the real EAD??

Hyper, do you know where it says you can't get two? Is it on the USCIS website?

It doesn't make sense to me either but many posters in this NG have stated you can't get a second Interim EAD.
I read about this in an immigration site but I don't remember where, sorry!!.

Just to confirm... 2 weeks ago I got my 1st. interim EAD, and the officer told me, a 2nd. is not possible.. so if by dec (3 months before my interim expires) I still dont get my EAD by mail, I should apply for new EAD, so I can get a new interim by the expiration date of my 1st. interim...

hope not have to do it.. I sure, dont want to be paying and paying for more EAD...

I hope you don't have to do it, either! No wonder they want to make sure the USC sponsor makes enough money....it costs an arm and a leg to get everything done, and in the meantime, the immigrant can't work!
