Default When do you file the DS forms?

I've noticed in many timelines that people are submitting the DS-230 Pt 1 & DS-2001 just a couple of days after filing the I-130. Is this the right way to do it? I thought we had to wait until they sent us the DS forms after they'd started processing the I-130?

Thanks
Paul

When doing DCF through London, I was actively advised by the embassy (after submitting the I-130), to submit DS-230 & DS-2001 ASAP. It is perfectly acceptable to submit everything at the same time as they will work on both parts of your application in parallel and marry them together after the I-130 approval. I couldn't do this myself as I was waiting for paperwork from the US, but using this method it should be possible to bring the processing time of an application down to not much longer than the I-130 approval time itself.

I still have a house full of stuff to pack up and ship, a house to sell and a company to do the same with (I'm relocating the manufacturing section of the company I work for to Arizona). So I'm stuck here for a while.
