Hi!
2 questions:
a) I had my fingerprint done on March 29, 2002 (mailed in my I-485 application, Feb
2002). Is it true that I should be receiving a notice for my EAD interview, a
month from my fingerprint date?
b) Didn't filed in my Advance Parole together with my I-485 but wants to apply for
one now. Can I apply thru walk-in and whats the timeline like?
THANKS!
Eve

I don't know if you can do a Walk-In for AP but get there before 4:30am to stand in
line. It seems that the line grows quickly after 4:30am. And bring one of those
folding chairs. We bought two at K-Mart for less than $5 each!!

Good advice. I did my AOS there when they also did the same-day interviews (not done anymore), and we got there at 3am. We were about 20th in line and got to about the end of the first row by the wall or just after the first turn or something... I think you will find that you can just line up and file anything once you get inside, whatever they say or display on the screens outside.
Dallas should be warm at night now (apart from the few evenings this week when it's been 55). I find it amazing that after just 6 months here, I think a day that has a high of 72 degrees is a cool day - that would have been a nice summer day in the UK!
I recommend the folding camping chairs made by Coleman that are made out of steel tubing and have heavy guage canvas material. These are the large ones and you can often get them from Wal-Mart as well (or Target) for about $7 or $8 each. If your going to be out there more than a few hours, these are much more comfortable than the basic folding chairs and we use them for going to places like my son's baseball games (better by a long way than the usual bleachers).
Take care,
Brian.

Hi Brian!
Thanks for suggestion on "chairs".
So from what I understand, I can file my Advance Parole (walk-in) but not necessarily
get it on the same day.
Is it approximately a 90-day timeline?

From my understanding of the post in Dallas INS (as of 2 days ago) they do not accpet
applications in person anymore

No such rule. They can give you EAD without fingerprints (that was in my case)

They do no accept personal fileing anymore. I was at the INS yesterday and saw
information about it. If you have A number already there should be no problem with
fileing, but please remember that it might take about 6 months to receive AP from
Dallas office (personal expirience)

Hey, thanks for the insight!
I miss my family terribly (have been here 5 months now), so to wait another 6 more
months, kills.
So you got your AP?
Eve
