Default Need Advice!!!

My BF and I decided to marry, I'm an American citizen. Last year I was out of the
country for most of the year so my income for 2001 is below the poverty line guidance
but my actual salary reach that line. The fact is that we are in love and wanna be
toguether and decided the best place to live is here in the US due to many factors.
Will I need a co-sponsor for filing the petition or is the INS only aware of my
actual wage?

Thanks in advance,

Desperately in love

You need evidence of the total income, not just the stated salary. What about your
1999 and 2000? What about your current salary?

You will probably need a co sponsor.

I'm new here, so in advance, thank you for your patience and help. May I ask what
the poverty guideline is? I'm single, never married, no kids or dependents. Thanks
again! Susan

http://www.ins.usdoj.gov/graphics/howdoi/affsupp.htm. I believe it is the same for
I-134 (if needed for this form) and I-864

found via "INS poverty guideline" at www.google.com. There is little concering the
immigration process you cannot find on the web.

If military, the requirement is 100 percent of poverty level

For non military, it is 125 percent of poverty level. It depends on the number of
people in your family and the number of people that you are sponsoring. It is higher
for Alaska and Hawaii.

So, if you are only sponsoring one person, then the amount required for 2 people is
what you need.

The pdf file can be downloaded here.

http://www.ins.gov/graphics/formsfee/forms/i-864P.htm

For the 48 continguous states ( plus DC, Puerto Rico, Guam, and USVI), , 2 people,
the 125 percent amount need is $14925. For AK $18662. For HI, it is $17,175.
