CR-1 Visa after K-3 Visa
Hello,
My wife and I were fortunate to get a K-3 visa in China last July.
Now we've got the CR-1 Interview in Guangzhou later this month.
The one question I had is about the Medical Examination.
We obviously got the Medical Examination done for the K-3 visa
initially.
We had it done last June.
We know that the Medical Examination is valid for 1 year.
However, we handed in the sealed brown envelope from the Medical
Examination for the K-3 visa interview.
In turn, it was added into the "Mysterious Brown Envelope" which we
handed in at the POE in San Francisco.
Since we don't have the sealed brown evelope any more for the CR-1
visa interview and the Medical Examination is still valid. Will
Guangzhou still ask us for the Medical Examination form?
I E-Mailed Guangzhou and they said that the Medical Examination is
still valid, but they didn't elaborate on me not having the sealed
brown envelope.
Has anyone else gone through this?

Re: CR-1 Visa after K-3 Visa
Hi Rich:
I am in the exactly same situation. My wife will go for a CR-1 visa after an approved K3. Any information on this medical exam question would be great!
Omer, could you help? I know your wife got both K3 and CR-1. Thanks.

I'd keep on emailing GZ until you get an answer as their opinion is the only one that will count. Consular filing is quite different from Svc Ctr filing.

Re: CR-1 Visa after K-3 Visa
We went to Guangzhou and asked them directly. They said that they do
not have access to our Medical Examination that was given at the POE
(Point of Entry) so they told us to go do it again. So we stayed an
extra day in Guangzhou and had it redone, now we're heading back to
Guangzhou tomorrow for the interview.

Re: CR-1 Visa after K-3 Visa
Richard,
How important is it to you to get the CR1 visa and have your wife re-enter the USA as a Permanent Resident?
How expensive is it to have a new medical exam? As compared to extending your stay in China if the particular interviewer wants the medical exam forms and your wife doen't have them.
Rhetorical questions, don't bother to answer. You know the answer already, your wife had another exam.
Congratulations on the interview, welcome back to the USA.
Best regards, JEff
