Background check

Background check
I was approved by the INS and got letter saying it is now being sent to
appropriate consulate. Have they done a check on me already? I am a little
concerned since I was a rebellious adolescent and have a few misdemeanors on
my record. Will this affect me?

Since he mentioned the approvel being sent to the consulate, and he post
with US based info, I am going out on a limb and assume he is the USC...
So, he really has to worry about the background check on the immigrant
They don't check the US Citizen.
