Default cost of medical

Hi everyone,
I just wonder what's the average price for the medical check up? I just called one in my area, and ask for $320! is that a lot or an average price? Being honest I thought it's going to be a little less....

I don't recall exactly what we paid, but it was something on the order of half that much. You may or may not have a choice in your immediate area with respect to the doctor you use (we were given a list for the SE U.S.), but at that price, I think I'd be bargain shopping, even if it meant driving to another city.

We haven't gotten that far yet but I did go ahead and check to see what it cost. With the medical exam and vac., the referred INS doctors office said $230.00. I had 5 to chose from and each one was different with this one being the cheapest. One wanted almost $400.00.....what a rip!

Yeah, this is what I thought...a bit high price. I've called 3 other places, but the doctors don'r work there anymore. Well I guess I will need to keep looking.
The funny thing is that the lady at the doctor's office told me that the price is the same even if I don't have some vaccines and they will need to give me some. So why isn't it cheeper if you have everything with you!?!?

Good weekend to all!

Mine was done in the Washington D.C. area and was in the neighborhood of
$150. I called nearly all the Drs on the list INS gave me to find the
cheapest one within a reasonable distance.

I called about 5 when I had to take my medical here in Chicago. Some charged
more than what you are quoted, but I ended up getting one for about 120
dollar. However, I am a frim believer that the doctor, and especially his
nurse bought their credentials of a spam mail. But, that doesn't matter.
They are on the list, and they gave me the form filled out....And I saved a
loooot of money...

I think it varies, also it will surely depend on weather the person needs shots or not!

Do research, it always saves money!

I had my medical done in Norman, Oklahoma for $140. I did not have any
vaccination records with me, however they told me only a certain amount
were required by INS, in order for me to pass the medical), and that these
were available free from the local health department.

Mine cost all up about $300 Australian..

Which I thought was a total rip off.. the doctor charged about $120 or so
($108 for xray.. $60 or so for blood tests)..

The $120 sounds okay.. but it was basically him asking me all sorts of
questions about why I was going (felt like I was in the interview!!).. and
then asked a few questions about my health, poked and prodded me a bit.. and
signed off on it...the whole 45 minute exam could've been shortened to about
10 minutes if the questions about why I was going and why I was getting
married were removed! But then again if it was that short they'd have a
hard time charging like they do..

Also, they could charge all they wanted as they were the only doctor in the
whole state that was authorised...

After checking over 7 numbers ( some of the doctors didn't wrk there any more) I fianlly found something cheapper $175 + cost for needed vaccines. Tomorrow I should get my vaccine record from my "home" dorctor, so I will know what shots I need. I need to check out the Free Health Clinik in my city. Maybe overall it won't be so EXPENSIVE!

Thanks guys!

The medical alone was $100. The vaccination supplement, including Tetenus, MMR and Hep B shots and a chest X-ray for TB cost $261.

they told me that this $175 is for everything exapt shots, so I imagine that this include the Xrays and blood test.
