Default checking on wait times

Hi everyone,

My husband and I are in the process of removing conditions from his green card. It's taking a very long time, and I thought I'd check in to see if the timeline is normal or if something might have gone wrong.

We began the process February 2021, and received our first I-797 March 2, 2021. This extended his conditional resident status for 18 months. On December 13, 2021, we received the second I-797 extending his status for 24 months post expiration date on his green card. This has been the last we've heard from USCIS. At this point, the 24 month extension will have his green card expiring January 2023, in about 5 months.

Is this timeline normal at this point? I know some of these things can take years but it's getting very close to the expiration date and we are starting to get anxious.

Thanks for any advice,
Kendall

Probably normal for these COVID / post-COVID times. He can still apply for citizenship when eligible, even if his removal of conditions is still pending.

Also, his PR status does not expire. He can always go in person and get an I-551 stamp in his passport if the extention letter expires and he needs to travel abroad.

Speaking from experience, I am in the process of getting my passport stamped for a second time due to wait times on the I751.
