Can 17y/o k2 aquire citizenship using N600 ?
My wife's son was 14 y/o when he came in oct 2001 under K2 visa.
I'm thinking about adopting him now regardless but I read that adopting
a permanent US resident ( which he will be soon) that has been in my
custody for 2 years and is under 18 would possibly qualify to aquire
citizenship using
the N600 form for "certificate of citizenship" because of US citizen parent
relationship.
As with many government publications , this one is pretty hard to figure out
just by reading it a couple of times (N600 instructions). Can anyone here
shed any light on the subject?

I believe that an adoptive relationship only counts if the adoption took
place before age 16. You are right, the N-600 is probably not the best
source of information for this.
