Converting from J1 to H4
Hi,
I have an H1 and my wife has a J1 that is due to run out at the end of
July. (She is not bound by the two year rule). In order to stay in the
country she wants to convert to an H4 based on my H1. What is the
process for doing this? I cannot find any resources on the internet
for this other than http://evisaforms.state.gov/ but that seems very
general. I also do not see any information about the cost of where to
file or what documents are required. Is there anyone who has gone
through the same experience or knows how to handle this?
Thanks
David

File form I-539 with the USCIS service center that has jurisdiction over
your area. And ignore the state.gov site; that is for applying for a visa.
She needs a change of status. Please visit my Web site at
http://www.kkeane.com to understand the difference.
