I mean what I wrote - "after the mother's visa was issued."

Had I meant "until they were already in the US" I would have written until they were already in the US.

Ok - got it... annoying for the OP! But no big deal anyway the way it is.

Well... I got praise from Jeff above so I can't be doing too bad!

Original poster, I hope you saw Ian's excellent post about writing to the Visa Branch of the US Embassy in London. Hopefully they will sort it out for you and "add?" the baby to the application.

Yes I did and I actually phoned the US embassy earlier on today at the £1.23 p/m number (was not pleased about this!). However, he told me to email the department (different to the address above) where the baby should be added to the petition. I will keep you posted when I receive a response.

Of course he did - the petition is a USCIS issue, not a consular issue. Cudos to him for telling you the better place to ask the question.
