AOS Times
Does anyone have a clue how long it takes the Washington INS to
respond to an application for AOS. Even confirmation that they have
received and registered the application.
I first applied on Nov.18 2002 and due to an error on mine and my
wifes part we did not include the $50 fingerprinting fee. The result,
complete application returned mid Jan 2003. We immediately sent it
back with the full fee but have heard nothing since.
Due to their lack of response I have had to turn down a 2 month
contract of work out of the US. Without the Advance parole I can not
leave the country and as I have no response from them how can I get
advance parole. Trying to talk to them is pointless we even went up to
the office but to no avail?
I am getting seriously pissed off with the situation and complete lack
of response from the INS, to the point I am considering saying to hell
with the whole thing and returning to the UK with my wife and son both
of whom are US citizens. I can not keep turning down work or my career
will go out the window?
If anyone can shed a bit of light on this matter and at least restore
some hope I would be most appreciative.
Thanks
Steve

Hi there,
I've checked on the kamya page for you, and there are experiences from Spokane and Seattle - here is the link:
http://www.kamya.com/aos/130washington.html
Perhaps you could get your local parliamentary rep on the case of the delay (is it congressman?). From what I read, this might help you at least get an answer from them.
Hopefully this may help you.
Peace,
D.
