Default 2nd NOA from Vermont Service Center!

I went online today to do my daily check of the case status and was happily
surprised to read this message: "On November 07, 2002 the appropriate
American Consulate or port of entry was notified by cable, telephone, or fax
of the approval of this case."

I assume they cabled the approval since Vermont automatically cables so I am
about to inform my fiance about the great news. I'll ask her to call the
consulate in Rio De Janiero to politely ask what she can do as far as
collecting the police and medical reports and about possible interview
dates.

I know people have been wondering what was going on in Vermont lately and I
hope this, and the few other approvals in the last few weeks, are an
indication of movement again.

K1 Visa Timeline:

September 27 - Sent original submission of I-129F to Vermont Service Center
September 30 - VSC receives submission per return receipt
[October - Audits begin and are to run for about 2 weeks]
October 10 - Vermont cashes check for filing fee of $110
October 15 - Received first NOA from VSC dated October 7, 2002.
November 7 - 2nd NOA

Continued thanks and best of luck!

Congrats!! You've given me hope now because my first NOA is dated 2 business days after yours ...btw, did you request that your petition be cabled to the appropriate consulate, or did they do it automatically? I don't think I made the special request for mine.

The I-824 and its fee is not required for Vermont to cable approval. They do so automatically.

Congradulations!

I got my 1st NOA on August 20. It said the case may take 15 to 21 days
to process. I've been waiting for 78 days now. Nothing happened. I am
wondering if the queue is not only based on time line but also on
country. My fiancee is in Russia. Anyone got their 2nd NOA from VSC
lately, please post your good news. Thanks.

James

I received an approval from VSC Nov 1 for an I130 dated August 14. My friend
submitted an I129F at the same time and was approved in late September, or
about 30 day after submission. His fiance is from the Philippines. In his
case, no unusual aspects...similar ages, etc. In both cases the paperwork was
perfect, conforming to everything on the INS website and everything mentioned
in this newsgroup.

Bob,

That was pretty fast! Congrats.....I also filed the I-130 at VSC and the first NOA is dated October 8, 2002. I hope mine goes as fast as yours, but you never know, I might end up in the bottom of a pile somewhere really dark....=-)

Lots of luck in the future, CLAUDIA
