Cant beat some decent ground coffee made in the cafetiere
I was having a conversation with GF's cousin who is also a Trucker and he was telling me that he would stop for a Tim's on average 4 times a day, I asked him how much he would spend, he said 10 - 15 bucks a day (cuppa, doughnut, butty etc) then was complaining that he had no money!! I pointed out that it adds up over the year circa 3k
(5 days x 48 weeks @ 12.50 a day)
I said to him go and buy a cheap coffee maker and make your own in the truck. A $6 can lasts me nearly a month so no more that $100 a year..... his response - you cant beat a Tims!!!
Canadian logic eh???
(I thought of suggesting that he talk to his doctor about taste bud replacement.....
)

Well now, I didn't say I was a great fan of Tim's coffee - frankly, I prefer the stuff I make at home - but free wifi, warmth and congeniality (and free donuts) make it a good deal.
Mind, BellAlliant came and hooked us up this morning so my 'Yay' may now be redundant.

Never mind the coffee and or wifi, thank god for the ever present stream of available Tim Hortons bathrooms when on road trips with the kids!

So, still no internet at home - hopefully, BellAliant will extract digit from posterior and hook us up this Wednesday (only been waiting 2 weeks).
Meantime, Timmie's free wifi is getting heavy use from my laptop. Just stopped by the local in Lower Sackville (closing in 1 hour) and they are giving away the coffee and doughnuts!
Yay for Timmies!
And free wifi - even when they're closed
Gotta' love this country.

I believe you can get free wifi at the Vancouver General Hospital (VGH).

)I know people who have Keurigs and Tassimos at home, but they still have to go on a coffee run every morning. My wife will get in the car before a long road trip and tell me (before we've even left the driveway) that she needs a Tim Horton's tea. I tell her she should have just boiled the kettle and use a travel mug! We even have friends who buy their coffee and breakfast from Tim's nearly every morning, even though he's out of work and they're so short of money that they had their electricity cut off a couple of months ago!
It's one thing if you're out and about, but I just don't understand the need to get a takeout coffee when you're close to home. As you say, it really adds up!

You could of course argue (as no one understands the national obsession of Timmies) that its hard to understand that national UK obesession of binge drinking and throwing up all over the pavement at 3am outside some nightclub or kebab shop.
