Easiest way to do this, I thought, was to open up youtube and search for "penalty shootout" (which I did and promptly clicked on the first link). My mistake, while trying to keep a brave face and explain the rules I had to sit there and watch England lose to Portugal again :( Statistically speaking, it's should be our turn to win on penalties. I hear Defoe & company have been practising penalty kicks. I'm hoping they've also been practising that other thing they have to do well too, er, what's it called, oh, that's it... "passing". |

May I just point out here that I was the only one to predict a Japanese win?

We need to come up with something for the winner (of the next round). Maybe the winner gets a thread dedicated to them where all others will offer a paragraph a praise everyday for a week. |
Re: World Cup
Here is what happens when you dick around with the rules of football.
Read the wiki page and then watch the video. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shell_C...p_1994#Anomaly http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ThpYsN-4p7w |

26 Jun...predictions before 11:00am AST please:thumbup:
* Uruguay 0 KoreaRepublic 0 * USA 0 Ghana 0 So, with tomorrow, we get a new round "the knock-out round!" Scores have been reset and everyone is welcome to join in. There is no prize. Same as previous round... predict the score at the end of "normal time"...for 1 point (correct result) or 3 points (correct score). If you fancy a flutter, there's now the additional option of predicting a penalty result for extra points! TWO points for correct result and a massive 5 (Five) points for correct penalty score! (Just add the word " PENS" on the end of the prediction!) |

Re: World Cup
Well, I'd like to thank my girlfriend.
Seriously. I let her take over the predictions for a couple of nights and she got about 10 points

I agree. I'm not starting it because I won't be entering (as explained before). Go ahead with a new one.

Re: World Cup
Would it be better to put a couple of new threads elsewhere just pointing back to this one? I don't mind either way but if we start a new thread, it might appear more credulous if someone else starts it (?)

I can do it - but will wait for Greenhill to reply just in case he's doing it now.
