Back in 5 months, it bloody well better have melted by then.

Very nice. And good idea.

First time I've seen a heavy snow in 5 years.

If it had only waited until Thursday, I would have been long gone.

Compared with New Brunswick winters it's a picnic down here. Say hello to dodgy Dave in Panama for me 😁

The only one who might fit that description is "Cowboy Dave" in Boquete

Warnings

8:00 PM PST Monday 11 November 2019
Snowfall warning in effect for:
  • South Thompson
Snowfall with total amounts of 10 to 15 cm is expected.

A Pacific frontal system is giving precipitation to the interior. Light snow or rain this evening over Shuswap and the South and North Thompson regions will become snow heavy at times overnight. The snow is expected to change to a few rain showers tomorrow afternoon as temperatures rise. Total snow accumulations of 10 to 15 cm can be expected with the highest amounts over higher terrain for South Thompson and Shuswap.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected] or tweet reports using #BCStorm.

Wind in the wrong direction overnight so hairdryer needed to open the back door to let the dog out. She didn't want to go despite being crammed into her fleece coat. There's enough drifted snow that I'll have to blow to get out of the driveway. Only another eleven months of it.

We've had that awful freezing rain stuff. Don't like it.

I shovelled on Tuesday morning. There wasn't quite enough to justify getting the machine out, but it was still hard on the snow-shovelling muscles that hadn't had a workout since last March... about 15cm or so of quite light fluffy snow.

Winter tyres went on last weekend. The tranquil suburban peace was shattered on Sunday afternoon by the sound of small-volume air compressors and battery-powered impact wrenches as half a dozen neighbours all had vehicles up on jacks on the driveways. One advantage of living in some people's vision of hellish suburbia is that the standard-issue 2-car garage provides enough room to store the off-season tyres on their rims; Canadian Tire do a good line in wall-mounted tyre racks for just the purpose. Seeing the massed ranks of tyre-changing driveway mechanics is almost as amusing as the massed ranks of snowblower operators who appear early in the morning on work days when there's been a decent snowfall overnight. Well, when I say "amusing," that amusement wears a little thin by mid-February.

Nice sunny day. 9 degrees currently. Still no snow on the local mountains on the north shore.

I still haven't got me tyres on yet. I plan on changing them over this weekend and then it's guaranteed to not snow until the end of December..

I usually have a window open slightly, they keep the hallways of the building like 27 and hot air flows in under the door and our unit stays 20-22 most of the winter without us turning the heat on....

The forecast has been revised, no snow in the forecast at the moment, and appears it will be warmer then Environment Canada originally forecast coldest overnight is only expected to be -3.

I am good til about -15 to -20 then I start to get annoyed with the cold.

My Wife finally cracked last night and closed our two bedroom windows before going to bed. It was -13c outside and felt like +13c in our bedroom.
