Not quite. Victoria maybe- but nowhere near Calgary, and I mean nowhere near Calgary. Victoria, although subject to the biggy, is relatively safe due to its geology and terrain. Parts of the rest of the Island and Vancouver are a totally different story. West of the Island Tsunami, Vancouver, liquifaction and soft sediment problems .

I know there is a major fault line on the coast of Vancouver, it was an earthquake here that caused the tsunami in Indonesia that Xmas.

The fault line has been dubbed 'the ring of fire' as it stretches from Vancouver through the artic to the north and comes down through japan.
Many scientists believe that this fault line is likely to kill the country of Japan soon but like every predictions of destruction and death how likely it is is disputable.

Certainly my wife, who grew up in Calgary and is now a teacher here, had no idea what to do when we were hit by the Folkestone earthquake in 2007! By contrast, growing up in Folkestone we were taught about what to do in an earthquake and visited the simulator in Dover to practice.

Err, no it wasn't. The mag 9.1 'quake which triggered the Dec 26th 2004 tsunami had its epicentre off the west coast of Sumatra.

The documentary 'ring of fire' disagrees with you, this is the only source I had of this. It was on Discovery channel not too long ago, but if what you say is true perhaps it was not such a good documentary after all.
