Back to The Okanagan, Grey Monk have a really nice restaurant with stunning views over the Okanagan Lake. Food and wine are good- it's very popular locally though, so booking would wise if you wanted to guarantee a table.
If you have kids, Dirty Laundry have a pretty patio area overlooking the steam railway near Summerland. You find a table , then pick up a picnic basket , already stocked with a cutting board, sharp knife and plates, then choose your cheese, ham, bread, wine, soft drinks, then back outside to make a picnic. It's simple but relaxing, and in the summer, there's often some local live music.

Apparently, if you pay a little extra, they'll let you do your own washing up too...
