Wind Chill of Minus 37 tomorrow!

When I lived in Ottawa you got temperatures like that with wind chill. Wore a winter coat and a jumper and it was fine really. Moist air freezing in your nostrils when breathing out is something I've not experienced elsewhere.
Seems to be a good 10 or 15 degrees warmer in Guelph.

My husband was up that way for years, and hated it, and then had the nerve to complain about the cold when he was here in NB at Christmas! We've had -35 with windchill here last week and thankfully my neighbours were moaning big time, which made me feel better. I am with the OP, I've got a super coat great boots, and a game of strip poker would last for a bloody long time with my layers, but my (facial!) cheeks burn for hours too, and I wear glasses. I'm doomed!

Without windchill or humidex I've seen +44 and -44, and that's a heck of a gap. When it was 44 (hottest day of summer) I rode my bike across a parking lot and the tires left grooves in the pavement. -44 was out at the lake and when it warmed up to -22 after the cold snap we thought it was balmy. At least it's a dry cold on the prairies.

I like how there's not much difference between Celsius and Fahrenheit when it's ultra cold.
