Default Wind Chill of Minus 37 tomorrow!

Tomorrow will be the coldest it's been since I got here...

The school run is going to be a joy... not...

What's the coldest day you guys have had? or do you stop counting when it gets past minus 35?

-42 last week.

My face is still burning. The +14 forecast for Wednesday will feel tropical.

Temps in Ottawa are crazy right now.

Wow. Minus 42.

That's the thing - whenever there is much of a wind chill and I clear the drive or am out for any length of time my cheeks burn for hours!

Worst I've seen on the car thermometer when I got in was -35 (I don't think wind chill is measured, it was simply -35). On the way to work it fell by the usual two degrees. I didn't care for it.

I have fab thermals and am planning on getting snow pants this week.

Do I wear the snowpants on my head then to stop my cheeks burning?

Minus 40 something if you include the wind chill. Was staying with a friend and we had to fetch horses in, feed them etc. Not recommended when martini fuelled. The horses were not impressed.

-54 with wind chill. -40 in the hot-tub (or, rather, outside the hot tub while I was sitting in it).

One of my co-workers was recently telling me about his trip up north where the wind chill was so bad that they couldn't even calculate it.

That's what scarves are for . I think this was taken around -40 on my first winter here:

Edit: and yeah, that's probably what I'll be wearing to the bus stop tomorrow .

And strong coffee. +5c tomorrow and +13C Wednesday where I am.

Then I'm undertaking a personal climate change program and f***ing off until May.

An early adieu.
