To be with family For a job opportunity / career advancement To cash in on inflated UK property prices and trade up to a mansion Because the mountains are prettier here Because they can... Why why post provocative questions on internet forums???????? (the wrong forum too I might add) Moved to the maple leaf.... |

Hooked on phonics?

Re: Why Why???????
I moved for a wife at the time, but that pesky invisible line kept us apart unless one of us immigrated.
Just because one is from a developed country doesn't mean they wont have better opportunity elsewhere. |

Re: Why Why???????
I think that some of you guys have tried very hard to be helpful here and good on you. Me myself, I don't have the patience. So my answer is that I do not understand 1 word of what the OP is trying to say. Grammatically it just does not make any sense.
I give up One of the reasons I chose Canada is because they speak English. You should look it up sometime or use Bablefish which surely would give better results |
Re: Why Why???????
Just because a country is developed, doesn't mean the whole country is equal. And developed doesn't always mean good either.
In the UK, the standard of living in the South East and Aberdeen is far better than much of the rest of the country. Many people live in relative poverty. I live in the north of England, in a small village. There is no way I could afford to move to the south east and buy a house, in a nice area. For me, moving to Canada means that I can afford a house near a good school and close to a good university, for my kids. We will also be able to take advantage of a lot of winter and summer sports, for a reasonable price. Another reason I want to move, is to give my kids the confidence to do the same when they are older and take advantage of opportunities available to them. Where I live now, many of the kids leave school at 16 and take some crappy dead end job. My daughter has only just started her second year at secondary school and already, she seems less ambitious and confident than when she started there. |
