Who Lives in Kelowna?
#1
Hey all
Who has advice on Kelowna and surrounding area? We may decide to relocate over next year and would welcome advice on the area an economy. We will be getting married and part of our plan is to relocate from Alberta.
Would welcome some general chit-chat on the good and bad points
Cheers

What economy ? Sloppy mom and pop stores, hells angels front businesses, ragamuffin small businesses, service sector and tourism plus a dearth of real estate and development companies. Oh and the "silicon vineyard".....tee hee.

Two different replies. We're here on vacation on the Westbank, seems like a very nice place and better weather than Edmonton which is one of the driving factors. From speaking to a few property owners the economy here it is still trying to pickup. More interested in quality of life and future prospects - you have to walk before you can run. There's alot that goes into the mix of somewhere you'd like to bring up a family.

My sister lives there & I would be happy to if I got work.
My experiences there re. weather, scenery, size of town, restaurants, shopping, not too far from Vancouver all good points for me.
Expense & not sure if enough work for me the down points.
I'm not as familiar with the worst aspects, but they haven't put my sister off in 5 yrs & I suppose it depends on the comparison - I know some of the bad points in the local towns here very well & I suppose, as here it will depend if I can afford to not have to live so close to any of the more crime ridden neighbourhoods.
